Project Overview

Project Goal

Design a compact, hand-held cleansing brush for consumer use. Ensure the design delivers effective sonic cleaning performance, meets ergonomic requirements, and can be manufactured efficiently for market introduction.

About the Project

The Sonic Thermo Facial Brush is a compact, waterproof device with thermal and sonic cleaning modes. Hygienic silicone bristles deliver deep cleansing, while a spatula-shaped top provides precision access around the nose and eyes. Multi-material construction and refined surface transitions balance performance, comfort, and production efficiency.

As the flagship of the SmartAppGuided skincare device line, this product established much of the design language applied across the company’s portfolio. I contributed to shaping that language while designing 27 devices from concept to production, ensuring ergonomic comfort, advanced functionality, and visual consistency. This flagship device served as the foundation for building both the brand identity and the cohesive aesthetic of the wider product range.

  • Developed high-density silicone bristle pattern aligned with complex surface curvature

  • Integrated aluminum massage plate to visually communicate thermal function

  • Defined surface transitions and parting lines for clean assembly and waterproof integrity

  • Collaborated with ID lead and engineers to ensure design intent through DFM
